Nobody calls a restoration company on a good day. By the time you reach us, something in your home or business has gone wrong, and you need to know two things: who is going to fix it, and whether you can trust them to see it through.

Like many longtime Gulf Coast residents, I have been on the other end of that call. It is the reason I know what matters in the first hour, the first week, and the last walkthrough.

HomeLyft was built to fix the part of this industry that fails people most. Most restoration companies dry the house and leave. Then you go find a contractor, and when something goes wrong, each blames the other. We do the mitigation and the rebuild under one roof, with one team and one point of contact, from the first call to the day you have your home back.

The culture inside this company comes down to three things I expect from every person who wears our name.

Craftsmanship. We restore a home the way we would want ours restored. If something is wrong, we say so and we fix it.

I have spent my entire career in the construction business in Mississippi. My goal is simple: Leave it better than I found it. That applies to every house or business we walk into, and it is the mission of the entire HomeLyft Team.

What we do

Most days, the work starts with a phone call from someone who is stressed, unsure what to do next, and looking for a straight answer. A pipe failed overnight. A storm pushed water under the slab. A kitchen fire left soot on walls two rooms away. We come out, assess what actually happened, not just what’s visible, and walk the homeowner through a realistic plan before a single piece of equipment is staged.

A large part of what we do runs through insurance. We document losses thoroughly: moisture readings, thermal imaging, photographs at every stage, written scope. That documentation protects the homeowner during the claims process and keeps the project moving without unnecessary back-and-forth between the adjuster and the job site. We work with most major carriers and know how to speak the language adjusters expect.

The work itself is physical and detail-oriented. Structural drying means monitoring psychrometric conditions daily and adjusting equipment placement until materials read dry, not just surface dry. Mold remediation means containing the affected area, removing colonized material, and verifying clearance. Fire and smoke restoration means tracing residue into HVAC cavities and wall voids that aren’t obvious at first walk-through. None of it is glamorous, but done correctly it means a home is genuinely restored, not just patched.

Our certifications and licensure

HomeLyft Restoration MS holds certification as an IICRC Certified Firm, and our technicians carry individual IICRC credentials in Water Damage Restoration (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), Fire and Smoke Restoration (FSRT), and Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT). The IICRC, the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, sets the technical standards the industry runs on. When a scope of work references the S500 drying standard or the S520 mold standard, those documents come from the IICRC. Holding firm certification means our processes are audited against those benchmarks, not just self-reported.

We are also EPA Lead-Safe Certified, a federal credential required by law before disturbing painted surfaces in homes built before 1978. Much of the housing stock in coastal Mississippi predates that cutoff, so this certification comes up regularly on real jobs. Additionally, our team is OSHA trained and we carry the FORTIFIED Building Roofing, MS Windstorm certification, which is directly relevant to storm damage work in a region that takes hurricane season seriously. Our contractor license is on file with the state (#RO 2728).

Where we work

Our home base is Gulfport, and we serve the broader Mississippi Gulf Coast, Harrison, Hancock, and Jackson counties, including Biloxi, Pass Christian, Long Beach, D’Iberville, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, and Bay St. Louis. The Gulf Coast’s humidity, storm exposure, and mix of older and newer construction create specific restoration challenges: mold can establish in porous materials within 24 to 48 hours of a moisture event, and the region’s wind-driven rain finds entry points that aren’t always obvious. We know the area’s housing stock and its vulnerabilities.
